Efik version
Mme ebot ye eron ye enanEnglish version
Calabar River, the river that saves the soulCalabar River, the orderly river
Who will obstruct our great Ebonko River
From carrying out its duties at the appointed time
Calabar River
Calabar River a river of strength
Its aquautic inhabitants display with pugnacity
The giant lobsters inhabit and convalace
In the Calabar River
One lends its hand to the other
As husband and wife at a church wedding
If they disapprove your passage, you're merely fooling Don't joke with the Calabar River
English version
The Goats and sheep and cows
They all breed;
They supply us milk and fresh meat
They are growing, sparkling and helping;
This hope of life is yours
